Well as mentioned on a couple of model discussion boards and on our own Two Mikes Resin Facebook page, big changes are afoot here at Two Mikes. These changes are in the way we do business. We have been at this for nearly six years now and recent changes in my own life regarding new full time employment have set the course in which we are heading for the immediate future. I have also decided that I really need to spend more time with my family. Two Mikes has never been a full time job as many of you may know.
With that being said we have found that in recent months our customer service has been slipping. Orders have been taking longer to fill and ship and frankly, that is not something I am comfortable with. Our customers come first and when delays etc happen, it shows me that we have a problem with our system. We have grown in leaps and bounds in the past 5+ years and trying to keep up with website orders as well as keeping up with distributor orders has just proven to be too taxing.
So what does this all mean? Is Two Mikes closing its doors? Absolutely not! In fact, we are doing something drastic for us in order to provide our customers better service. So without any further fanfare, here is the current plan for now and the forseeable future…….
As of March 31st, Two Mikes Resin will no longer take website orders. We are going to be selling to our distributors only. The current distributors are Hannants in the UK and Sprue Brothers here in the United States.
We feel that this change is a very necessary one and in the end it will provide much better service to you, our customers. It will alleviate waiting on orders and you will be able to piggy back our products with other items at our suppliers websites, thus saving you money on shipping etc…
This decision has not been easy and my wife and I have toiled with it for some time. That being said, we will still have new products coming at a regular basis and you will be able to get word of these through the usual suspects such as our website, our newsletter as well as the discussion boards as well as our own Two Mikes Resin Facebook page.
Another benefit of this change is that it will allow for faster production of new items allowing for quicker releases. It also affords me the time to work on new masters. In the end it will benefit everyone.
There is also going to be a fairly large pruning of the product line in the near future. If we remove some of the older stuff it will allow for faster filling of our distributor orders as well. That in turn means more stock on hand at those locations.
We are very excited to start this new chapter in the life of Two Mikes Resin! It has been a long 5+ years and we think that this will really make a difference in the products we produce and the service you will get from us through our two awesome suppliers.
